Ian was appointed Creative Director of N Style magazine to visually and editorially position the publication as the essential guide to fashion, interiors and lifestyle in Southern Germany.
By using distinctive trend-led features Ian created a strong editorial identity for N Style to give the magazine a more focused ‘point of view’ approach.
A re-design of each section and new typefaces allowed the visuals to be both surprising and elegant across a diverse range of subject matter.
Working with luxury communications agency Jago Partners Ian was brought in to develop the creative and strategic cross-channel restructure of the syBASS brand and identity, which involved the development and implementation of a series of initiatives, including a luxury, large-format magazine, a complementary online presence and a variety of printed support materials.
The branding of this London/Copenhagen based tech start-up required everything from name generation, logo design, brand guidelines, printed/digital collateral to the subbranding of its software interface design.
Embracing the nature of its core business (data migration) and Scandinavian routes the name hopp was formed. Design and tone of voice was kept playful yet informative to help explain the complex nature of the company offer.

Ian was asked to design the Magnum photographer Antoine D´Agata’s book PARAISO. The images were the result of a 10 day residency in Valparaiso, Chile as part of its annual Photo Festival.
The book became a diaristic interpretation of Antoine's unapologetic world of drugs, blurred memories and the hyper-real present.

A unique, one-off promotional brochure for Sappi Fine Papers to celebrate and explore its own product range, as well as the wider world of print. Targeted at a global audience within the communication industries, a beautifully crafted piece of large-format print was produced. The photography and illustration were carefully considered to give the more fact-based information an accessible visual character that would sit comfortably alongside the warmer, more personal photographic portraits.
